Swapped!

I did a swap recently with Kelly from CrescentRoad on flickr. I sent her a Catherine Holm pan and she sent me this fabulous Golden Tulip bowl :) My collection of gold leaf Pyrex is growing, I just love them!

I also bought these adorable magnets from erinink on etsy. Along with the magnets, I got a set of notecards and they are all so cute! I'm going to end up buying every magnet she comes out with.

Going Green

Over the weekend I had a sudden burst of inspiration to make a grocery bag.  I used this tutorial here, but I obviously modified it to only use one piece of fabric for the exterior.  I highly recommend this tutorial and I will definitely use it again.  The fabric is a piece of canvas that I have had for years - now I want to find more and make a whole set!  It's by Jessica Jones of How About Orange, from her very first line.  I lined it with 2 plain white cotton dishtowels I had bought at Target on clearance.  I also put a pocket on the inside, for coupons, keys, etc.  I used my bag this week and I'm happy to report it fit a bunch of groceries with no trouble!  I'm planning on whipping up a mini version for small purchases and if I can find more of this fabric, I will definitely buy it and make more larger versions as well :)

Free Time

I found myself with a little free time this week, so I spent it doing my favorite things :)  First up, I stopped off at Saver's on a day that I was able to go into work late.  I found my first piece of Catherine Holm bakeware!  I love the avocado color :)

Then yesterday I took the day off and sewed up this little set as a gift for a good friend :)  The wallet pattern is from keykalou and I used this tutorial for the wrist strap on the wristlet.  I highly recommend following this method - it came out so nice and neat!  I can't wait to give it to her!

I also got myself a little present this week - these cute little earrings from Pink Lemonade - they were on thriftyseeker.com at 50% off with free shipping - how could I resist??

Loafin'

Last week I made a great score!  I have been wanting this Butterfly Gold loaf pan for ages - I already have the Spring Blossom one.  So, on a quick trip to Savers, I spotted it.  I ran over and grabbed it!  It's in perfect condition - can't wait to use it!

Sew Serendipity Tunic

Finally finished!  This top was a bit frustrating for me, but I think it's because it had so many steps
 - I'm pretty happy with the finished product.  All of the edges are serged and it fits very well.  I put in the invisible zipper, but it did not come out that great so I ended up removing it.  If I'm careful, this goes right on over my head :)
The fabric is great - it's a voile from the Innocent Crush collection by Anna Maria Horner.  I would definitely recommend this fabric!  The pattern is from the book Sew Serendipity.  This project was supposed to be my entry for the Craft Book Challenge in March but I just couldn't get it done!  So, I'll do a second project for April.  Something simple!  :)

I'm working on my March Craft Book Challenge top and I have some fun projects planned for the rest of the month as well. I've got to make up for lost time!

Anyway, I want to do something special for my 200th post, so I'm going to have a little giveaway! One person will win the items in the picture below...a vintage fat quarter, an owl pincushion (made by me :) and a Lisette pattern! The pattern is for sizes 14-22, so keep that in mind when you enter!
